Biography

Bernhardt Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Maud Major-Nicolas, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Major-Nicolas has extensive hospital and professional experience with an impressive academic and training background in the U.S. and abroad.

Dr. Major-Nicolas graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Liberia in Monrovia, where she also earned her medical degree from the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine. Subsequently, she relocated to France and completed her residency at the University of Bordeaux II in Bordeaux. She then moved to the United State, where she attended Indiana University and completed a graduate-level non-degree program in microbiology.

Dr. Major-Nicholas completed a four-year training as a resident at Orlando Regional Healthcare System in Florida, followed by a research fellowship in Immunopathology (Transplant) at Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida. She concluded her postgraduate training as a cytopathology fellow at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dr. Major-Nicolas has served as Staff Pathologist at Bernhardt Laboratories, where she was responsible for ultrasound-guided thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and other CT-guided needle biopsies, as well as providing onsite interpretations of pancreatic biopsies.

Dr. Major-Nicolas currently holds full medical licensure in the State of Florida. She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She is also certified by the Cytopathology Board.

Dr. Major-Nicolas is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
