Biography
CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Patricia Iorfino, M.D., F.A.S.D.P., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Iorfino is a double board-certified pathologist with a specialized interest in dermatopathology.
Dr. Iorfino graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York, New York. She earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Following her degrees, Dr. Iorfino completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where she served as chief resident for two years. She subsequently completed a fellowship in oncologic pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This was followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where she studied under Dr. Klaus Busam and Dr. Cynthia Magro in the combined fellowship program of Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Iorfino served as chief fellow and clinical surgery instructor of pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She held a position with CBLPath before leaving to serve a year as director of dermatopathology at the California Skin Institute in San Jose, California. She rejoined CBLPath after leaving the California Skin Institute and has been a member of its pathology team since 2011.
Dr. Iorfino has a number of peer-reviewed publications and professional society presentations. She has peer-reviewed articles on the subject of dermatopathology published in journals such as The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, The Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and Pediatric Dermatology. She has presented at the annual meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Dr. Iorfino is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology and a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Dr. Iorfino holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology.
