Biography

Dr. Patricia Iorfino is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology. She received her B.A. degree from Barnard College – Columbia University and her M.D. degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Iorfino completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where she also served as Chief Resident for two years. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in oncologic pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center followed by her fellowship in dermatopathology at New York Hospital, where she studied under Dr. Klaus Busam and Dr. Cynthia Magro in the combined program of Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to joining CBLPath, Dr. Iorfino served as Chief Fellow and Clinical Instructor of Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She has published several dermatopathology articles in peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, The Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and Pediatric Dermatology. Additionally, she has presented work at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the International Academy of Pathology.
Dr. Iorfino is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology and a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP). She left CBLPath for approximately one year to serve as the Director of Dermatopathology at the California Skin Institute in San Jose, California but re-joined the CBLPath team in late 2011.
