Biography

Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Marie E. Perrone, M.D., as a member of our dynamic medical staff. Dr. Perrone comes with a wealth of knowledge in anatomic pathology and cytopathology.

Dr. Perrone obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. Subsequently, she earned her medical degree from Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago in Illinois. Here, she was amongst the top 25 students selected to teach “Clinical Pathophysiology and Therapeutics.” Her anatomic and clinical residency was at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she contributed to various research grants. She also completed a fellowship in cytopathology at Stanford University in California.

Dr. Perrone has held leadership roles during her academic career; she served as a resident delegate for the College of American Pathologists and resident member-at-large for the Pacific Northwest Society of Pathologists. Presently, she is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Society of Cytopathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Currently, Dr. Perrone is the medical director for cytopathology at Legacy Lab Services.

Dr. Perrone has authored several peer-reviewed articles, including an abstract and book chapter. She has also given many oral presentations at medical conferences such as the CSCTR/MWAFMR Combined Annual Meetings in Chicago, Illinois, where she was honored with the Oral Abstract Award.

Dr. Perrone has full medical licensure in California, Oregon, and Washington, and is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology.
