Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is pleased to include Matthew J. Evans, M.D., in its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Evans is a distinguished scholar, bringing with him a wealth of academic experience.

Dr. Evans completed undergraduate courses in political science and history before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. During this time, he made the chancellor’s and dean’s lists for his academic achievements. Subsequently, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Here, he completed a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency, receiving the Jerald R. Schenken, M.D. Outstanding Achievement in Pathology Award.

Dr. Evans concluded his postgraduate training with a general surgical pathology fellowship, which provided him with specialized expertise in genitourinary pathology at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center/ARUP Laboratories. He began his professional career at Pathology Associates of Idaho in Idaho Falls, where he currently serves as a general pathologist with a focus on anatomic and clinical pathology. He is also the laboratory director of Nell J. Redfield Memorial Hospital in Malad City, Idaho, and the director of microbiology at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Evans has given lectures and presentations at numerous national medical conferences, where he shared his knowledge on various subspecialties, such as breast, soft tissue, and gastrointestinal pathology. He has been a member of many professional medical organizations, three of which he is still active in; the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists and the United States, and the Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Evans holds full medical licensure in the states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
