Biography

Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Maryam Armin Farinola, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Farinola has extensive hospital experience with an impressive academic background.

Dr. Farinola graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She received a Howard Hughes Fellowship for her research in microbiology. She then continued at Wayne State University, where she went on to receive her medical degree from their School of Medicine.

Dr. Farinola later completed a four-year residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Here, she was awarded the Young Investigators award in excellence in clinical research. During her fifth year, she was staff pathologist/surgical pathology assistant with a concentration in genitourinary pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Farinola has been a part of Cascade Pathology Services since 2010. She is the medical director of anatomic pathology at Legacy Central Laboratory. Her expertise is in genitourinary and breast pathology. Dr. Farinola is a member of four medical professional associations, including the College of American Pathologists, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Oregon Pathologist Association, and International Society of Urologic Pathology.

She holds full medical licensure in the states of Oregon and Washington. She is fully certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Farinola has authored and coauthored eight articles for peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also presented numerous abstracts at professional society meetings.
