Biography

Consultants in Laboratory Medicine, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Hayder Abdulwahid, M.D., F.C.A.P., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Abdulwahid is a board-certified pathologist who brings professional medical and leadership experience.

Dr. Abdulwahid graduated with his medical degree from University of Kufa College of Medicine in Kufa, Alnajaf, Iraq. He served a residency in internal medicine at Samawa and Rumaitha General Hospitals in Samawa and Rumaitha, Muthanna Governorate, Iraq, where he served as chief resident. He then served a second residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where he held the position of chief resident. Following his residency, he completed two fellowships. The first was a fellowship in hematopathology at Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. The second was a fellowship in surgical pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. 

Dr. Abdulwahid started as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, OH. He then took a position as a general pathologist and hematopathologist at Associated Pathologist Inc in Maumee, OH. Prior to joining Consultants in Laboratory Medicine, he was the interim medical director at Magruder Hospital in Ohio. 

Dr. Abdulwahid has multiple publications. He’s published articles in Journal of Surgical Research, ACG Case Reports Journal, and Case Reports in Gastrointestinal Medicine. He also published a book, Ace the board: comparison between WHO-HAEM4R, WHO-HAEM5R, and ICC. He has presented abstracts and posters at meetings of the College of American Pathologists and American Society for Clinical Pathology, among others. 

Dr. Abdulwahid is a member of the College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Society of Hematology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, among others. 

Dr. Abdulwahid holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology.
