Biography

CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Jack Charney, M.D., as part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Charney is a board-certified pathologist who has specialized interest in gastrointestinal pathology, general surgical pathology, and uropathology.

Dr. Charney earned his medical degree at the University at Buffalo, a State University of New York campus, in Buffalo, New York. Following medical school, he completed an internship in anatomic pathology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He then completed two residencies. The first was an anatomic pathology residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, NY. The second residency was in anatomic and clinical pathology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he served as chief resident. After his residencies, he completed two fellowships, one in hematopathology and one in cytopathology, also at Beth Israel.

Before joining CBLPath, Dr. Charney worked at Beth Israel Medical Center in a variety of roles. He was an attending pathologist who specialized in gastrointestinal and liver pathology. While there, he also served as pathologist-in-charge of the liver pathology division, associate director of the residency training program, associate director of surgical pathology, and, most recently, codirector for anatomic pathology.

Dr. Charney is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy
of Pathology.

Dr. Charney holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
