Biography
CBM Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Huimin Guo, M.D., as a member of our dynamic medical staff. Dr. Guo has extensive professional experience with an impressive academic background.
Dr. Guo received her medical degree from the Medical Center of Fudan University in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, and completed an internal medicine residency there before relocating to the United States. After medical school and her first residency, she earned a Master of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She subsequently finished a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the same institution, during which she served as chief resident. She went on to complete a cytopathology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, as well as a hematopathology fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.
Dr. Guo has considerable professional experience in medicine. Immediately following her internal medicine residency, she served as an attending physician at the Medical Center of Fudan University. After coming to the U.S., she was a research assistant in the Georgetown University Hospital’s molecular diagnostic laboratory. Upon completion of her postgraduate training, she started as a pathologist at CBM Pathology after which she took a position as a pathologist at Quest Diagnostics. She has since returned to CBM Pathology as a pathologist.
Dr. Guo has had her research published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, with a focus in oncopathology and cytopathology. She has also given multiple poster and abstract presentations at professional medical conferences.
Dr. Guo is a member of both the College of American Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Dr. Guo has full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, cytopathology, and hematopathology.
