Biography

ProPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Ravi A. Patel, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Patel is a board-certified pathologist and expert in gastrointestinal pathology who brings professional medical experience to his position.

Dr. Patel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition and another in microbiology and cellular science from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Commonwealth of Dominica. He served his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he held the position of chief resident. He completed a fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Patel joined ProPath in 2015 as a pathologist.

Dr. Patel has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the Journal of Transplantation Technologies and Research, Clinical and Vaccine Immunology, and the Journal of Immunology. He has published abstracts in journals such as Modern Pathology and the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and presented multiple at an annual meeting of the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Patel holds full medical-licensure and is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
