Biography
ProPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Yehung Vivian Luo, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Luo is a board-certified pathologist who brings extensive professional medical and leadership experience to her position.
Dr. Luo earned her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University in China. She subsequently graduated with a master’s degree in molecular genetics and microbiology from the University of Vermont in Burlington. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts, before serving her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the College of Virginia in Richmond. Following her residency, she completed two fellowships. The first was in molecular pathology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The second was in surgical pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Luo started as a staff pathologist at AmeriPath South Texas in San Antonio, followed by a staff pathologist position at Clinical Pathology Associates, also in San Antonio. Prior to joining ProPath as a pathologist, she was a staff pathologist at AmeriPath North Texas in Irving. Dr. Luo has held several directorships. She was the medical director of laboratory for multiple labs and other healthcare settings, including: Methodist Medical Center in Richardson, TX; Baylor, Scott & White Surgicare North Dallas; North Texas Surgery Center in Dallas; AmeriPath North Texas in Plano; and Baylor, Scott & White Surgical Hospital—Las Colinas in Irving, TX.
Dr. Luo has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Molecular Diagnostics, Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and Pediatric Neurosurgery, among others. She also has a published abstract in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology.
