Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Sarah Ann Walter, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Serving Cascade Pathology Services since 2008, Dr. Walter has extensive hospital and professional experience.

Dr. Walter graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha.

Dr. Walter later completed a pathology residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, during which she also served as chief resident. She then completed a surgical pathology fellowship, concluding her postgraduate training. Dr. Walter has since had an extensive career as a medical staff member at Legacy Hospitals, primarily spending her time at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center. She began her career as the laboratory director at Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center, and was a member of the Medical Executive Committee, and Quality Council Chair at Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center. Currently Dr. Walter is the CLIA laboratory director for Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, medical director of chemistry, and the director of clinical pathology for Legacy Laboratory Services. Dr. Walter’s areas of interest include quality assurance, pediatric pathology and gastrointestinal pathology.

Dr. Walter is a member of multiple professional medical organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathologists, the College of American Pathologists, and the Oregon Pathologist Association. Dr. Walter has coauthored two peer-reviewed articles for medical journals.
