Biography

Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Carmen Winters, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Winters has an impressive academic background with specialty training in breast pathology.

Dr. Winters graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence with her Bachelor of Science degree in biology/genetics. She later attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City earning her medical degree and completing a post-sophomore pathology fellowship. During this time, she was also the recipient of the Damjanov Excellence in Pathology Award.

Dr. Winters went on to finish a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, during which she served as chief resident in her final year. She then completed a breast pathology fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Upon completion of training, Dr. Winters accepted a position as staff pathologist with Cascade Pathology Services. Currently, she serves as the CLIA laboratory director for Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. Her area of expertise is breast pathology.

Dr. Winters is a member of the College of American Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, as well as the Oregon Pathology Association. She also belongs to three other professional medical organizations. She holds full medical licensure and she is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Winters has had the results of her research efforts published as abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has also delivered several presentations at national medical conferences.
