Biography

University Pathologists, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is privileged to include Elizabeth T. Kalife, M.D., as a member of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Kalife has an extensive academic, teaching, and medical professional background.

Dr. Kalife earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She then went on to complete her Master of Arts degree in microbiology and immunology at the Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She then received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She began her postgraduate training with an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Subsequently, she went on to complete a surgical and gastrointestinal pathology fellowship also at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, followed by a gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, and gynecologic cytopathology fellowship at the Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in Providence.

Upon completion of her postgraduate training, Dr. Kalife began holding key medical and teaching positions. She held active positions as a member and liaison for the cancer committee, breast health leadership committee, and multidisciplinary tumor board. She was a teaching fellow and assistant professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She held position as an associate director of the hematology lab for the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at the Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, in addition to her position as a pathologist for the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Kent Hospital, Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, prior to her position with University Pathologists.

Over the years, Dr. Kalife has developed extensive professional experience. She holds medical research publications, articles, and abstracts in peerreviewed medical journals, as well as oral and poster presentations at professional medical meetings and conferences. She is an active member of the College of American Pathologists, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists.

Dr. Kalife holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
