Biography

Cascade Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include David J. Glidden, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Glidden has extensive hospital experience with an impressive academic background.

Dr. Glidden graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in Philadelphia. He then received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York.

Dr. Glidden went on to complete a four-year residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He later finished a cytopathology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle to conclude his postgraduate training.

Over the years, Dr. Glidden has developed considerable laboratory and hospital experience. He served as an attending pathologist at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, and concurrently as attending chief pathologist at the DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He also served as laboratory director at the Andrew Rader US Army Health Clinic in Fort Meyer, Virginia. For his service, he was awarded both the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.

Dr. Glidden later held a broad array of key positions at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, including medical director of the morgue and assistant professor of the National Capital Consortium Pathology Program. Currently, Dr. Glidden is the managing director of Cascade Pathology Services and the corporate medical director for Legacy Laboratory Services in Portland, Oregon. His areas of interest include cytopathology, head and neck pathology, lung pathology, and blood banking.

Dr. Glidden is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society for Clinical Pathology and is a fellow member of several other professional medical organizations. Dr. Glidden currently holds full medical licensure. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He has coauthored two peer-reviewed manuscripts for national and international medical journals.
