Biography

CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology laboratory, is privileged to include Claudine G. Habib, M.D., as a part of our dynamic medical staff. Dr. Habib is a board-certified pathologist who brings robust diagnostic experience along with a specialized interest in breast pathology cases.

Dr. Habib completed her Bachelor of Science in biology at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. After her undergraduate degree, she received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, where she graduated with clinical honors in surgical pathology, neuropathology, and ophthalmology. She also served as a teaching assistant for microscopic anatomy during her final year at SUNY. Following medical school, Dr. Habib served an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Baystate Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine in Springfield, Massachusetts. She then completed a gastrointestinal and liver pathology fellowship at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in Missouri.

Dr. Habib began working as an attending pathologist after the completion of her fellowship. She was the attending pathologist at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY, where she provided diagnostic evaluation and support, consultation services, and presented at professional multidisciplinary conferences. Prior to joining CBLPath, she was the attending pathologist at New York Cancer and Blood Specialists where she continued to provide diagnostic evaluation and reporting and worked extensively with breast pathology samples, including HER2 FISH testing.

Dr. Habib has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals along with a textbook chapter update for Principles of Forensic Toxicology. She has also had poster presentations at professional medical conferences.

Dr. Habib is a member of the College of American Pathologists.

Dr. Habib has full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
