Biography

GPA Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Archana P. Kanteti, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Kanteti is a pathologist who brings professional research and medical experience with specialized training in surgical pathology and further interest in microbiology and breast pathology.

Dr. Kanteti graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, pre-medical track, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois. She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. She completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where she won the resident peer teaching award. Following her residency, Dr. Kanteti completed a fellowship in surgical pathology, with a specialized focus on breast cases, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. During her fellowship, she completed extra rotations on the Ear, Nose, Throat, and Lung and Breast and Gynecology services in addition to her core rotations: Frozens, Gastrointestinal, Liver and Transplant, Dermatology, ENT and Lung, and Breast and Gynecology services.

Dr. Kanteti has held several different professional and research positions. While at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she was a research technician working on various microbiology and immunology projects, including projects on E. coli and Vibrio cholerae. During her residency, she presented at multiple tumor board interdisciplinary patient care conferences encompassing a wide variety of surgical subspecialties and was a guest lecturer in the College of Allied Health for the course “Biology of Human Disease.” During her fellowship, she independently presented at the weekly breast and multidisciplinary tumor boards. She was also a participant in the rapid autopsy program for pancreatic cancer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Kanteti has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals such as PLOS One, BMJ Open, and Case Reports in Pathology, and has two manuscripts in progress. Dr. Kanteti is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and College of American Pathologists.

Dr. Kanteti holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
