Biography

ProPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Marc R. Lewin, M.D., as a leader of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Lewin is a board-certified dermatopathologist who brings professional medical and teaching experience to his position. He has been named director of dermatopathology at ProPath.

Dr. Lewin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in cell and molecular biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson. He served a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution in Baltimore, Maryland. This was followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Lewin has been a dermatopathologist at ProPath in Dallas, Texas, since 2008. During this time, he has concurrently held an appointment of clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Lewin is now ProPath’s director of dermatopathology.

Dr. Lewin has peer-reviewed articles published in journals such as the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, Archives of Dermatological Research, and the American Journal of Clinical Pathology, among others. He has three book chapters published in Diagnostic Dermatopathology: A Guide to Ancillary Tests Beyond the H&E, as well as chapters in Dermatopathology for Residents, Encyclopedia of Medical Genomics and Proteomics, and Foundations in Diagnostic Pathology. He was a reviewer for the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology. He has also presented abstracts at meetings of the American Society of Dermatopathology, International Society of Dermatopathology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, among others.
