Biography
CBLPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include H. Ellen Kwark, M.D., F.A.S.D.P., F.C.A.P., as part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Kwark is a double board-certified pathologist with a robust professional career and specialized interest in dermatopathology.
Dr. Kwark earned her medical degree from Jeonbuk National University Medical School in the Republic of Korea. She moved to the U.S. for her postgraduate training. She completed a residency in pathology at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, and the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, where she served as chief resident. She completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at New York University Langone Health Medical Center in New York, NY, where she studied under renowned dermatopathologist Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman.
Dr. Kwark held a position as attending pathologist at Westchester Medical Center for almost 20 years. During this time, she also held an appointment as an assistant and adjunct professor at New York Medical College in Valhalla. She’s had several other hospital and laboratory positions. She held consulting dermatopathologist positions at SmithKline-Beecham Clinical Lab, Inc. and Metropolitan Hospital in New York. Prior to her arrival at CBLPath, Dr. Kwark served as senior dermatopathologist at Quest Diagnostics in
Teterboro, New Jersey.
Dr. Kwark has published several peer-reviewed articles and has presented on dermatopathology case presentations at various pathology societies and in-house grand rounds.
Dr. Kwark is a fellow member of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the College of American Pathologists.
Dr. Kwark holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic pathology and dermatopathology.
