Biography

Consultants in Laboratory Medicine, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Emma Khan, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Khan is a board-certified pathologist who brings professional medical experience in a variety of healthcare settings. 

Dr. Khan earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She served a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, where she then completed a cytopathology fellowship. 

Dr. Khan took a pathologist position at The Lab of Path PA in Arkansas following her fellowship. While there, she provided pathology services for a hospital and various clinics and was the medical director for three of their labs. She then held a position at Associated Pathologist Inc. (API), an eight pathologist practice where she was a full-time partner, serving multiple hospitals in the Toledo, Ohio, metro area. Before joining Consultants in Laboratory Medicine, she was a PRN pathologist at Forward Pathology Solutions in Denver, Colorado. 

Dr. Khan has a peer-reviewed article published in the Journal of Laboratory and Clinical Medicine and has presented research at an annual meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. She also published a review of Medical Microbiology: A Guide to Microbial Infections: Pathogenesis, Immunity, Laboratory Diagnosis and Control.

Dr. Khan holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology.
