Biography

Trinity Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Mangala S. Kurada, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Kurada has extensive professional experience and an impressive academic background.

Dr. Kurada completed her undergraduate studies with honors at Kasturba Medical College Mangalore in Karnataka, India. Here, she graduated with her medical degree and began her postgraduate studies before working as a physician resident at Kasturba Medical College Manipal. Subsequently, she relocated to Dallas, Texas and completed a clinical research fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she participated in various
research projects.

Dr. Kurada furthered her postgraduate training by completing a four-year pharmacy residency as well as an anatomic and clinical pathology residency with GI electives at the following schools and hospitals; UTSW Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Baylor Scott and White Hospital at Texas, A & M University in Temple, Texas and Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, West Virginia. She went on to complete a Donald King-sponsored dermatopathology fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute Pathology in Washington, D.C. followed by a GI Pathology fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Patrick Dean in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Kurada began her career as an independent contractor in Dallas, Texas. After six years, she served as a General Surgical Pathologist at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas and then a Lab Medical Director at Provecta Diagnostics (formerly Discovery) in Dallas, Texas. She is currently serving in the same role at Doctor’s Hospital in Edinburg, Texas.

Dr. Kurada’s research efforts have been published in peer-reviewed journals. She has full medical licensure in Texas and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
