Biography
Pinkus Dermatopathology, a Sonic Healthcare dermatopathology practice, is pleased to include Israel S. Kasago, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Kasago is a double board-certified pathologist who brings national and international professional medical and research experience.
Dr. Kasago graduated with his medical degree from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College in Tanzania. He served an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He completed an oncologic molecular fellowship at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. He then completed a molecular genetics fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. This was followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Kasago was a medical practitioner at Tanzania Ministry of Health before immigrating to the United States. Following his molecular genetics fellowship, he held a yearlong position as a dermatopathology researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Kasago has presented his research at a variety of professional conferences. These include Association for Molecular Pathology annual meetings, the Moffitt Scientific Symposium, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology annual meetings, and meetings of the International Society of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Kasago belongs to two professional organizations, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the International Society of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Kasago holds full medical licensure and is board certified in dermatopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology.
