Biography

LMC Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Wael H. Milyani, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Milyani has an impressive academic background with extensive professional and research experience.

Dr. Milyani received his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he subsequently completed a medical internship before relocating to the United States for his postgraduate training.

Dr. Milyani served a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, where he subsequently completed a surgical pathology fellowship. He went on to finish a dermatopathology fellowship at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, followed by a hematopathology fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Over the years, Dr. Milyani has developed considerable research and professional experience. He has held research appointments at Ruby Memorial Hospital, leading research efforts concerning monitoring and approaching TSH levels during pregnancy. He has also held numerous titles related to administrative leadership and educational service, including coordinating weekly dermatopathology academic sessions at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He has worked with LMC Pathology Services since completing his postgraduate training in 2017.

Dr. Milyani is a member of five professional medical organizations, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He holds full medical licensure in ten states, including Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey and Nevada. He is board certified in dermatopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology.

Dr. Milyani has coauthored many articles and textbook chapters based on his research activities. He is also a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Dermatopathology and has given several lectures and poster presentations at universities and professional society meetings.
