Biography

Trinity Pathology Associates, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Steven J. Hebert, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical team. Dr. Hebert is a board-certified pathologist who brings extensive professional medical and leadership experience, with special expertise in laboratory management.

Dr. Hebert graduated with his bachelor’s degree in zoology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He earned his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, also in Shreveport. He completed an internship in pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston before serving his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Ochsner Medical Institution in New Orleans, LA. He earned his master’s degree in health management from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Hebert has considerable experience in a variety of healthcare settings. He worked at the Burch, McQuitty, and West pathology group in Lafayette, LA, and the Pathology Group of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. He has also held several positions in Dallas, one at AmeriPath and the other at ProPath Associates. Prior to joining Trinity Pathology Associates, he held a position at Woodland Heights in Lufkin, TX. Dr. Hebert has held numerous medical directorships. He was the medical director for Richardson Regional Medical Center in Richardson, TX. He also held medical directorships at Medical City McKinney in McKinney, TX, including the Medical City McKinney Wysong Campus, Senior Health Clinic, and ER at Stonebridge. While at Medical City McKinney, Dr. Hebert was also chief of surgery and a board of trustees member. He also held the position of medical director at Avalon Healthcare in Tampa, Florida. In addition to his medical directorships, he served as managing director at AmeriPath North Texas in Dallas. 

Dr. Hebert has several peer-reviewed publications in journals such as the Southern Medical Journal and Chronobiological International, along with presenting at American Society for Clinical Pathology and College of American Pathologists meetings. 

Dr. Hebert holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
