Biography

Trinity Pathology Associates, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Ghousia Rizvi, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Rizvi has an exemplary academic and training background with extensive professional experience.

Dr. Rizvi graduated with a degree in medicine from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She subsequently completed a residency in internal medicine, pediatrics and ob-gyn at the Abbasi Shaheed & Sobraj Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan before relocating to the United States for her postgraduate training. She went on to serve a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University in Hershey.

During her time in Pakistan, Dr. Rizvi spent many years as a practicing physician in hospitals. She was a Medical Officer in the ob-gyn department of the Mother Care Hospital & Life Care Hospital in Karachi. She was also Senior Medical Officer at the Government of Sind Hospital Services in Karachi, where she served for over a decade.

After moving to the United States, Dr. Rizvi worked as a Research Assistant at the Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She was also a Research Associate at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. She spent several years as an Associate Pathologist at the Chambersburg Hospital in Pennsylvania before going on to work as a Staff Pathologist at the Rochester Regional Health System in New York. She was Medical Director of the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, New York for nearly 10 years, where she was also Director of the Blood Bank and an Executive Member of their Infection Control Committee. She is currently Staff Pathologist at Trinity Pathology.

Dr. Rizvi is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. She currently holds full medical licensure in the states of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. She is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Rizvi has had the results of her research efforts published as abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also delivered oral and poster presentations at professional medical conferences.
