Biography
Laboratory of Dermatopathology, a Sonic Healthcare Dermatopathology Practice is privileged to include Xuan Wang, M.D., Ph.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Wang has an extensive international academic background with impressive research experience.
Dr. Wang received her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She later served a three-year anatomic pathology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Weill Cornell in New York City, where she also completed a dermatopathology fellowship. She went on to complete another dermatopathology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Wang participated in three research projects during her academic training. Her ongoing active research involves the use of FISH to distinguish metastatic uveal from cutaneous melanoma, under the guidance of Dr. Klaus J. Busam and Dr. Cynthia M. Magro. She has worked with Laboratory of Dermatopathology since 2013, where she holds positions as medical director and staff dermatopathologist.
Dr. Wang belongs to four professional medical organizations, including the International Association of Chinese Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. She holds full medical licensure in the state of New York. She is board certified in dermatopathology and anatomic pathology.
