Biography

LMC Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice is privileged to include Whitney Banks, D.O., F.C.A.P., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Banks has extensive hospital and professional experience with an impressive academic and training background.

Dr. Banks graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in forensic and investigative services from West Virginia University. She earned her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, where she was awarded the David B. Wheeler, D.O., Memorial Award in pathology.

Dr. Banks completed a post sophomore fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco Department of Pathology during medical school. She went on to serve a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency, followed by a cytopathology fellowship, both at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Here, she was awarded the Herschel Sidransky Memorial Award for Research, the Yolanda Oertel Award for Research, and the Resident of the Year Award. She went on to finish a pediatric pathology fellowship at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston to conclude her postgraduate training. She has since worked as a staff pathologist with LMC Pathology Services.

Dr. Banks is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and belongs to four other professional medical organizations, including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Banks holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and cytopathology.
