Biography

CBM Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is privileged to include Nancy S. Dow, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Dow has extensive professional and military hospital experience with an impressive academic and teaching background.

Dr. Dow graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Dr. Dow returned to the University of Kansas Medical Center to complete a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency. She then finished a surgical pathology and cytopathology fellowship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, during which she also served as chief resident. She later completed an immunopathology fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by a gastrointestinal pathology fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, both in Washington, DC.

Since completing her postgraduate training, Dr. Dow has garnered considerable experience in several key positions across several military medical facilities. At the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, she served as medical director for the diagnostic immunology and flow cytometry section, as well as staff surgical pathologist, consultant for flow cytometry, and acting medical director of the blood bank section. She worked as chief pathologist at the Basset Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Arkansas, and was staff pathologist and acting chief of the division of gastrointestinal pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC.

Dr. Dow has also held various teaching positions throughout her career. She was an adjunct assistant professor at both Bowling Green State University in Ohio and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She has delivered many lectures at universities and teaching hospitals and has actively trained military medical personnel in pathology for nearly three decades. She has worked with CBM Pathology since 2017, currently serving as a staff pathologist.
