Biography

CBM Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is pleased to include Kristen E. Natale, D.O., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Natale has extensive professional and military hospital experience with an impressive academic background.

Dr. Natale graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from the State University of New York/College at Geneseo in New York. Subsequently, she earned her medical degree from A.T. Still University/Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She went on to complete an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland before concluding her postgraduate training with a clinical fellowship in cytopathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Natale launched her career at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia, where she served as both the assistant medical director of cytopathology and staff pathologist. She went on to fill a variety of medical leadership roles at Walter Reed National Military and Medical Center, including medical director of cytopathology, medical director of molecular pathology, and associate program director. She also worked as a laboratory director and consulting pathologist at the Guthrie Ambulatory Health Clinic in Fort Drum, New York. She has also served as the lieutenant colonel of the United States Army Reserve and the staff pathologist and director of anatomic pathology at both Holy Cross Hospital locations in Silver Spring and Germantown, Maryland.

Dr. Natale has served on numerous hospital boards and professional organizations. She is presently a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a member of the American Society of Cytopathology. She has had the results of her research efforts published as abstracts, articles, a chapter, and a book. She has also been invited to give lectures to residents and presentations at medical conferences.

Dr. Natale holds full medical licensure in Maryland. She is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and holds an additional qualification in cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.
