Cunningham Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Jessica Tracht, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Tracht has extensive hospital and teaching experience with an impressive academic background.

Dr. Tracht graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio.

Dr. Tracht later served a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the final year of which she served as Chief Resident. Here, she subsequently completed a cytopathology fellowship. She later completed a gastrointestinal and liver pathology fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Since completing her postgraduate training, Dr. Tracht has held a number of key positions and academic appointments at teaching hospitals and universities. She worked on the medical staff of the Emory University Hospital, where she was also responsible for teaching gastrointestinal and liver pathology. Prior to joining Cunningham Pathology, she was on the teaching staff at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she has led a wide variety of pathology lectures and courses as Assistant Professor, including gastrointestinal lab modules and several didactic lectures.

Dr. Tracht is a member of five professional medical organizations, including the College of American Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. She holds full medical licensure in the state of Alabama, and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Tracht has authored and coauthored numerous articles, abstracts, case reports and book chapters, many of which have subsequently been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also been a frequent invited lecturer at universities and has given several presentations at professional medical conferences.
