Biography
Bernhardt Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Ann Church, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Church brings with her a wealth of leadership and teaching experience.
Dr. Church graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Subsequently, she earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, where she was honored with the 2009 Resident Teaching Award. She concluded her post-graduate training with a fellowship in dermatopathology.
Dr. Church began her career as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pathology and Dermatopathology, serving both the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UF for three years. She also worked in the same capacity for the Department of Dermatology, where she still teaches.
Dr. Church has also held several leadership roles, a few of which she presently assumes: Medical Director of UF Dermatology Lab at Springhill, Director of Quality Assurance Program, and Director of Dermatopathology Fellowship at UF. She has had numerous of her pathology-related articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Church is a fellow member of three professional societies: American Academy of Dermatology. American Society of Dermatopathology, and the College of American Pathologists. She has full medical licensure in the State of Florida and is board certified as a Diplomate in dermatology and dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology.
