Biography

Cunningham Pathology, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice is privileged to include Amanda Crowe, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Crowe has extensive professional and teaching experience with an impressive academic background.

Dr. Crowe received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Auburn University in Alabama. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham.

Dr. Crowe later served a four-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System, during which she served as Chief Resident. Here, she subsequently completed a cytopathology fellowship.

During her postgraduate training, Dr. Crowe acted in a variety of teaching roles. She taught macroscopic pathology teaching rounds, microbiology laboratory sessions, and served as an Instructor and Assistant Instructor of hematopathology and cytopathology courses for medical students, all at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was also a Cytopathology Instructor at Auburn University at Montgomery.

Dr. Crowe has also served on the staff at ten hospitals across Alabama, including St. Vincent’s Birmingham, Brookwood Medical Center, and Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center. She was a Staff Pathologist at Valley Pathology in Decatur, Alabama prior to joining our medical staff at Cunningham Pathology, where she has worked since 2012.

Dr. Crowe is a member of four professional medical organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. She holds full medical licensure in the state of Alabama, and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.

Dr. Crowe has published several abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and has given many lectures and presentations at universities and professional medical conferences.
