Over the last few weeks, our network of clinical laboratories throughout the United States has seen a significant increase in demand for COVID-19 molecular testing. We anticipate that this increased demand will continue, and we are actively working on expanding our already unprecedented testing capacity to mitigate high demand from endemic regions and clusters in the United States.
As outlined previously, Sonic Healthcare currently uses multiple platforms and methodologies for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) testing and will continue to work directly with several technology and vendor partners to secure the necessary supplies to mitigate national reagent supply shortages.
As we continue to monitor the situation, we are also working with our clinician colleagues to prioritize testing access to the most vulnerable patients, in-line with the CDC Priority guidance ensuring timely result delivery.
